Simoshi registered the stand-alone project activity “Institutional Improved Cook Stoves for Schools and Institutions in Uganda” under the Clean Development Mechanism (10345) and The Gold Standard (GS4364) on the 7th of February 2017. To date, 12,407 GS Certified Emission Reductions and 37,658 Verified Emission Reductions have been generated by over 100 schools, while achieving 9 Sustainable Development Goals, from changing the traditional cooking practices from using 3-stone fires to energy efficient cook stoves.
Simoshi has been featured in the “Buyers Guide for High-Quality Cookstove Carbon Credits” (see page 28 by clicking on the image) as an example of a project that delivers transparent and high-integrity emission reductions.
